The proposed decision-making method is a comprehensive approach aimed at harmonizing the rational and irrational aspects involved in the decision-making process. Rather than relying solely on a rational analysis of the elements at play, this method encourages a holistic perception of the choice to be made and its repercussions on the overall situation. It goes beyond a simple enumeration of advantages and disadvantages, inviting one to fully experience each possibility at the deepest level of one’s being.
Approach
This approach allows one to detach from rational pathways, fears, defenses, and imaginary scenarios that may influence us. It also invites us to break free from the emotional turmoil that risks pulling us into a spiral of confusion. To achieve this, it employs relaxation techniques, imagination, and reframing.
This method is particularly well-suited for addressing topics that are not of vital importance in an individual’s life and do not involve their entire personality. However, when it comes to fundamental choices, it is recommended to precede the application of this method with in-depth personal work, including self-knowledge and understanding of one’s personal and relational functioning.
